iChimp is completely free to use
This website always has been, and always will be free to use.
As part of the Editorial Code, we’re free to review products or services and speak freely about them, be that positively or negatively. Recommendations are only made when it’s best for you, the reader.
So how does iChimp generate revenue?
Companies cannot pay to appear on the site. Guides are written purely from a ‘what’s the best solution?’ stance. Once the guides are finished, we see if there are ‘affiliate links’ for the top products or services.
These look and work in the same way as normal links, but if someone clicks through, the link is tracked and may generate a payment to the site.
We only use affiliate links that give you an identical (or better) deal than going direct. However, as these are technologically generated, issues can happen, so please let us know if you spot any.
We don’t track individuals’ data. Nor will we ever sell it to third parties
Doesn’t this compromise the site?
We don’t think so. Our guides are written, then, totally separately, paid links are looked for. If no paying link is available, nothing in the guide changes. If the best is the best and doesn’t pay, it stays the best. The link used is simply ‘non-affiliated’, ie, non-paying. Financial considerations do not affect inclusion in guides.
We will never change our stance, products, or services, because of commercial considerations.
Affiliate earnings disclosure
We’ve always believed in full disclosure and transparency when it comes to our sites.
Given this, we want you to know that there may occasionally be links to buy products or services on NetChimp.co.uk. If you click on these links, you’ll find that the URL includes a small extra piece of text which identifies that the click came from our website. This text is an affiliate code, and it means that we get a small percentage of the money you spend if you choose to buy that product or service.
We will indicate this is the case on the same page where the product or service is mentioned.
There are 2 important things you need to know about this.
- This never impacts our recommendations.
- You’ll always get as good a deal (or better) than if you went direct.
These affiliate links help pay the costs of producing our websites and ensure that the content is free to you. However, it doesn’t mean that we are in any way indebted to these other companies. Nor do they or any other company have any influence over editorial coverage, how we rate products, or whether they get a positive review.
