Let’s start with a little background information.

When released in 2021, iPhone 13 models were pre-installed with iOS 15. Like the iPhone 12 that came proceeded it, security measures implemented included Face ID, the passcode, and the Find My iPhone app.

Although very similar to the iPhone 12 it replaced, there are many differences that makes the iPhone 13 unique including a smaller notch, improved battery life, an upgraded A15 Bionic chip, better photo handling, and larger camera arrays. This is why we wrote this dedicated guide for iCloud unlocking iPhone 13 phones.

Find My, formerly known as Find My iPhone, is a free app that helps find lost or stolen Apple devices. It also protects the iPhone 13 from theft by allowing remote locking and remote data removal.

When you switch on Find My, Activation Lock is automatically enabled too. This means the iOS device will be iCloud locked if lost or stolen.

So in summary, Activation Lock on iPhone 13 models prevents anyone from resetting and using your phone without your permission. So if you lose your phone, it will be difficult for anyone to use it because they need to know your Apple ID and password to unlock it.

iPhone 13 Activation Lock bypass methods

An iCloud bypass is used to unlock an iPhone 13 from its linked Apple ID. It is easy to bypass iCloud lock on an iPhone 13 by following the simple instructions written in this guide.

The bypass techniques given are specific to the following iPhone models:

  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max

Bypass the iCloud Lock screen on iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 is a brilliant device, but no matter how good it is you can easily be locked out of your phone. If you have forgotten your Apple ID or password, or are unable to remember the answer to your security question, then you will need to bypass the Activation Lock screen.

There are many ways that you can bypass the Activation Lock on your iPhone. One method is to use a third-party unlocking tool. Another is to go online and try a service, such DirectUnlocks.

These methods allow you to bypass the iCloud Lock screen, erase your phone, reset the passcode, and set it up from scratch.

On a pre-owned device

If you bought or were given a locked iPhone 13, then you need to talk to the previous owner and ask them to remove the iCloud Activation Lock so you can use it properly.

It can be unlocked in person, or remotely.

If they have forgotten to unlock the device before selling it to you, this request shouldn’t cause a problem. It would only be an issue if they have sold you stolen goods, and don’t know the Apple account details to unlock it.

Assuming the phone is not stolen, you don’t need to worry about returning the locked device to them for unlocking. The Activation Lock can be turned off remotely without them having the iPhone 13 to hand.

To switch off Activation Lock on a used iPhone 13 they:

  1. Go to: appleid.apple.com and Sign in.
    apple ID signin
    Apple account website
  2. On the menu, select Devices.
    apple ID devices
    Device list page
  3. Next, select the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max to bypass.
  4. To complete the bypass, click Remove from account.
    apple ID remove from account
Removing the iPhone 12 from your iCloud account

On your own device

If the iCloud Activation Lock prevents you from using your own iPhone 13, the official Apple fix is to unlock it using your Apple ID and password. This turns off Find My.

If you can’t remember your Apple ID or password, you can use iForgot to reset it.  You will be able to reset your account by following the on-screen instructions.

If you can’t remember your Apple ID, you can find it by trying the following:

  • On a different portable Apple device you own, go to iCloud or Media and purchases and you will see your Apple ID.
  • On Apple Mac look at System preferences. > Apple ID.
  • On Apple TV, go to Settings > Apple ID
  • On the Apple ID recovery page, click If you have forgotten your Apple ID, you can look it up. Provide your name and email address and your Apple ID will be displayed.

To find out more, see How to reset a forgotten Apple ID.

Bypass iCloud Activation Lock yourself

If you can’t get in touch with the previous owner, or they are unable to unlock the iPhone 13 you can bypass the Activation Lock yourself using an activation lock bypass tool or service. But you need to be careful and use a reputable company to avoid being scammed.

There are many websites that claim to be able to help you bypass Activation Lock. Yet, my testing has shown that most online iCloud unlocking solutions are scams. They simply don’t work.

Scams to be wary of:

  • Downloadable software tools.
  • Hackers and hacks.
  • Online tools that claim to ‘interface‘ with Apple.
  • PDF downloads with unlocking instructions.

iPhone 13 iCloud unlock prices

We found iPhone 13 iCloud unlock prices range from $10 USD to $50 USD. You need to be cautious as most suppliers only show the deposit, not the full fee.  A second payment, which is often far higher, is normally required before the unlock is completed.

Keeping the initial deposit low makes the service appear cheaper than it really is. When you add the final fee to the price, the cost is actually far higher. We recommend asking for the total price before you begin, so you know the actual cost.

When we reviewed the best iPhone iCloud bypass tools, we took this odd payment structure into account.

We also noticed that prices can vary by as much as $20 USD from the same supplier. Ask for a discount via the contact us area as you can save yourself quite a lot of money.

Remove Apple ID from iPhone 13 to turn off iCloud Activation Lock

The Apple ID is at the heart of Apple’s security system. When your Apple account is linked to your iPhone it is almost impossible to remove the Activation Lock. That is unless you know the Apple ID and password.

If you know the Apple credentials for the device it is a simple process to turn off Find My and disable the iCloud lock.

However, Activation Lock is used in many Apple products, not just the iPhone 13. So when you set up any Apple product it is automatically added to the owner’s Apple account. This prevents any other Apple ID from activating or using the same product.

This means your iPhone cannot be wiped, reset, and reactivated without your permission. Your permission is normally granted by providing your Apple credentials on the device itself, although it can be done remotely too

Activation Lock is part of Find My, the security app for all Apple devices.

Find My iPhone is a free service that helps you find your lost or stolen iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac. It uses GPS and Wi-Fi to show the location of your device on a map. You can also remotely lock your device so someone can’t use it and erase all the data on it.

Wrap up

There is a great deal of demand to get past the iCloud lock on Apple products. As a result, many scammers have appeared ready claiming to have the answer. For the most part, they don’t.

If you want to do things properly, only use the official methods to get rid of iCloud Activation Lock. This means turning off Find My on the iPhone 13, or via your Apple account on the web.

If you can’t use the official Apple technique, then be careful and use one of the recommended suppliers in this guide.
